INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP

WELCOME TO OUR CHURCH

Melton's Polish community were joined by visitors from Grantham and the Ukraine for their annual Oplatek ceremony recently.
Parish priest the Reverend Stanislaw Tylka welcomed nearly 100 people to the Polish Club in Sandy Lane.

After prayers, those attending broke and exchanged with one another consecrated wafers called " Oplatek " , along with greetings, a traditional Polish custom at this time of the year.

Then followed an afternoon tea to which everyone had contributed sandwiches and cakes, and caviar from the Baltic region was also served. Father Tylka led singing, accompanied by members of the Polish ladies' choir, and the rest of the community joined in.

A BEAUTIFUL FLOWER
in order that all who saw them might remember the Eternal Sweetness"
