
This sign appeared at the towpath entrance of the Grantham-Nottingham Canal near Long Clawson Bridge on Friday 4th May. Ten weeks had elapsed since the path was closed due to the prevalence of Food and Mouth Disease.
Walkers, fishermen, cyclists and others had been prevented from using parts of our countryside by prudent Government efforts to stop the spread of the disease.



The cherry blossom tantalised our taste buds making us think of the Summer to come and the "locals" "Blossom" and "Daisy" seemed to be content too as "the humans" returned.

"Most roads lead men homewards......." but we will return again to enjoy the delights of this part of Leicestershire
