THE MAYOR'S LUNCH FOR POLISH VISITORS
11th March 2003

Mayor of the Borough of Melton, Councillor Mal Sheldon hosted a farewell lunch for the visiting Polish party of Rugby players and the Abstrakt Dance Ensemble on Tuesday 11th March 2003.
The venue was the Council chamber which was prepared by noon with a buffet lunch for the guests.
The Council Chamber prepared for lunch  The Mayor, Twinning Chairman and Deputy Mayor of Sochaczew address the party The Mayor, flanked by David Morris (District Twinning Association Chairman) and the Deputy Mayor of Sochaczew, greeted and addressed the gathering while Miss Christine Slomkowska made a video recording of the proceedings and kindly translated the speeches.
David Morris thanked all who had helped to make this visit such a success for all concerned.
He expressed his hopes that the gathering momentum of the twinning movement in Melton would continue.
A further address  Mrs. Morris joins the group Mrs. Margaret Morris joined the official party to take part in the mutual presentations of gifts as Deputy Mayor K. Brymora of Sochaczew called for applause.
There was an opportunity for a group photograph following the presentations.... The presents displayed  The painting presented by the Polish group ....which included this painting from our visitors.
Before leaving for their third and final Rugby match - this time in Coalville -
