Whilst Jack made the acquaintance of several of the local Firemen before listening to the local band   ONSGENOEGEN  as they entertained the celebrating crowds.

  

The Mayor gave a full and illustrated report to the Twinning Association on his return and expressed the wish for more opportunities for twinning activities, particularly between Schools. His aim in his mayoral year is to raise cash to help fund youth projects at clubs throughout the Borough of Melton and he launched his appeal after being elected in May this year. "I have chosen to support youth activities because there is a need to build positively for the future generations" he said and "It is my belief that our young people need guidance and encouragement and places to meet, and we can use our influence so they can create a better future for themselves."
