KAPELLE
Kapelle is situated in the centre of Zeeland between the East and Westschelde, on the west side of the canal through South-Beveland.

The municipality consists of 4 villages: Kapelle, Biezelinge, Wemeldinge and Schore. The population in 1992 was around 10,400. Kapelle and Biezelinge are treated as one village although they are separated by the Vlissingen to Roosendaal railway line. The majority of people live in these two villages. The area is growing in size, and many new houses are being built, particularly in Kapelle.
Many people from Kapelle work in the neighbouring town of Goes or in the industrial area (Sloegebied) of Vlissingen. Vlissingen is the port used by the Olau ferry line for journeys between England and Zeeland. Transport links are good due to the municipality's central position in Zeeland. Kapelle even has a national railway service and is close to the national road network (A58).
There am several large businesses established in the area, including an international seed-selection industry. On the industrial estate "Smokkelhoek" close to the A58 road junction there is also a preserves factory and a new co-operative vegetable and fruit auction company called "Holland-Zeeland ba".
This area is known for its fruit growing, hence the choice of blossom as an emblem with the text "Kapelle blossom of Zeeland". Due to a reallocation of land several years ago, many new fruit growing businesses have flourished. A large proportion of the population now works in the fruit growing sector.
The surrounding countryside attracts many tourists. On the Eastschelde close to the village of Wemeldinge there is a recreation area with two campsites (a total of about 350 sites) and a boating harbour with about 90 berths. Parts of Wemeldinge are of historical interest and are protected.

"Jehova Nizzie".
This famous Band is a familiar sight and sound in twin town Melton Mowbray their Web site gives a nice picture of the Band and further detail.
